Quality Professional Development
Guided by an expert facilitator from our national faculty, you will learn how to apply the latest research about learning to help all your students achieve. You will be introduced to eight neurodevelopmental constructs that provide a window into how different students are wired to learn. Guided practice on how to adapt instruction based on academic tasks and student learning profiles — along with case studies and practical activities — will equip you with strategies you can immediately put to use in your classroom. You will leave with new ideas and tools — including a participant workbook and access to online resources — as well as a network of colleagues to support your efforts to more effectively work with struggling learners.

Teaching All Kinds of Minds is designed for educators who work with students in grades K-12 and is aligned with National Staff Development Council Standards.

National Headquarters Experience
In addition, you'll have the opportunity to get to know staff from All Kinds of Minds and attend a special dinner with All Kinds of Minds CEO Mary-Dean Barringer. And because North Carolina is home to nationally recognized education organizations — such as the Center for Teaching Quality and the Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy — as well as cutting-edge educational innovations — such as North Carolina's Learn and Earn initiative — you'll also have the chance to meet with education policy and innovation leaders to discuss current issues in education reform.

North Carolina: Home of BBQ, Basketball, and More
Experience the intellectual and cultural diversity of North Carolina's Research Triangle (Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh). Home to several prestigious universities, including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, the area offers a wealth of sight-seeing, recreational, and enrichment opportunities. Consider bringing your family and staying an extra day or two to see the sights, sample world-class restaurants, and enjoy summer Southern hospitality. Come and see for yourself why the region is one of the fastest growing in the nation.

Jill Irwin-Hartle, a Middle School Language Arts Teacher at American Renaissance Charter School in Statesville, NC attended the summer course -- Teaching All Kinds of Minds -- held at our NC headquarters and writes about her experience:

When I returned to my classroom in August, I immediately began empowering my students. The first ten days of school were devoted to enlightening each of them on the All Kinds of Minds concepts and beliefs. All Kinds of Minds has altered my view on learning and what it means to inspire, embrace, and empower. Now when I ask students to complete an assignment, they tell me the neurodevelopmental cognitions required and they help one another create strategies for success. They too view their brains, education, and peers differently…
