As a result of our training, we were able to pinpoint specific learning needs
for many of our students who typically "fell through the cracks" and we were
better prepared to provide targeted services to address their needs. Our
special needs referral process was streamlined and became far more focused with
assistance strategies that were tailored to the needs of each student before
testing. The model did not give us the "magic solution" to all of our problems,
but it did empower us to ask better questions, to be more data driven and to be
more aware of the impact that our instructional decisions had on all of the
students that we served.
